Engle and Hough Still On Top after Trial #2 at the World Equestrian Games Selection Trials in Wellington, FL

Two-way tie for first, three-way tie for second

Another day of summer temperatures, subtract the wind from yesterday and add better footing and what do you get…another fantastic day for Margie Engle and Lauren Hough. Engle and Hough were two of only four clean rounds, on another challenging Leopoldo Palacios-designed course, with only one total fault each at the end of day two. Today’s course consisted of 16 jumping efforts and a time allowed of 86 seconds. Engle took home top prize money today having the fastest no-fault round on Quervo Gold at 80.47 seconds. (Read on…)

Two Wins for McLain Ward as Winter Equestrian Festival Opens Two Week Run in Tampa

While the World Equestrian Games Selection Trials continue in Wellington, the Tampa leg of the 2006 Winter Equestrian Festival lifted off on Wednesday morning with the Tampa Bay Classic at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center located on the Florida State Fairgrounds. With twenty-five of the nation’s top show jumping riders in a heated battle, vying for a coveted spot on the team for the World Championships in Aachen, Germany in late August, early morning jumper attendance at the Covered Arena in Tampa was down at the start on Wednesday. TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN TO HOST FIVE USEF RECOGNIZED EVENTS
