The final day of Britain’s biggest indoor equestrian Show got off to a flying start with the Grandstand Media Cup which saw Britain’s William Funnell from Ockley, Surrey taking first place on Cortaflex Amber Du Montois in a double clear round only 0.13 seconds ahead of Geoff Luckett on Compliment 2 and 1.39 seconds ahead of the grand maestro, John Whitaker on Hugo Du Heup in a double clear round. She said, “I was thinking that maybe I shouldn’t do it, and then at the last minute I thought that I would do it for fun.” But what started out as just having fun turned into a winning round on Thursday afternoon at the Capital Challenge Horse Show.
