EquiFit, Inc. Signs British Olympic Show Jumper Michael Whitaker to Roster of Sponsored Riders

Boston, MA – June 1, 2025 – EquiFit Inc. has added another major show jumping superstar to their roster of riders, four-time Olympian Michael Whitaker from Great Britain. EquiFit Inc. offers an extensive range of products including: the revolutionary T-Boot Series™ horse boots, T-Sport Wraps™, T-Form saddle pads, and the industry’s only riding posture correction garment, ShouldersBack™.

Michael Whitaker boasts an enviable international show jumping record that spans over 25 years. In 1980, at the age of 20, he became the youngest ever winner of the Hickstead Derby on Owen Gregory. In September of 1993, Whitaker took over from his brother as the World Number One for the first time. In his career, Whitaker has represented Great Britain in over 130 Nations’ Cup teams.

Whitaker’s first Olympic experience was in 1984 in Los Angeles, where he helped his team bring home the Silver medal. Whitaker went on to compete at three more Olympics in Barcelona, Atlanta, and Sydney. Whitaker also won a Team Silver medal at the 1986 World Championships in Aachen, Germany and a Team Bronze medal at the 1990 World Equestrian Games in Stockholm, Sweden.

Whitaker and Great Britain have shone most in the European Championships. He holds one Bronze, two Silver, and three Gold Team medals. He also won the Individual Silver medal in 1989, the Bronze in 1993, and the Silver once again in 1995. In World Cup action, Whitaker has notched ten Top Ten finishes.

In 2006 alone, he has already had 21 top five finishes in international competition on such mounts as Insul Tech Portofino, Quidame des Hayettes Z, and Mozart des Hayettes.

Whitaker first saw the EquiFit T-Boots while competing in Arezzo, Italy. He was impressed with their workmanship and commented, “They’re very, very well-made. They’re very strong and can withstand a lot of the shock. The bandages also look really good.”

Whitaker plans to use the T-Boot Series™ and the T-Sport™ wraps on all of his horses in competition around the globe.

EquiFit, Inc. President Alexandra Cherubini is thrilled to have another European rider use the T-Boot Series. “Michael Whitaker is undoubtedly one of the best riders in show jumping,” she said. “We are excited to have him on our team, and I think his popularity and personality will help our boots become more recognized throughout the world.”

EquiFit, Inc. is dedicated to helping riders improve and become more competitive. In addition to Whitaker, they are proud to work with 2004 Athens Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward, Olympians Margie Engle and Alison Firestone, as well as grand prix riders Michael Morrissey, Joie Gatlin, Callan Solem, Jimmy Torano, Christine McCrea, Molly Ashe, Mandy Porter, Irish show jumper Conor Swail, Olympic Three-Day event rider Darren Chiacchia, and Australian Three-Day event rider Christine Bates.

Designed by an orthopedic company, the T-Boot Series™ is filled with T-Foam, a revolutionary pressure-relieving visco-elastic material that conforms to the horse’s body, providing maximum support and pressure-point dispersal and eliminating chafing and abrasion. When the T-Boots are removed, T-Foam recovers 100 percent of its original shape, ready to provide a perfect custom fit for every horse, every time.

EquiFit’s product line includes five different models of T-Boots. The brand-new XCEL™ hind boot is quickly becoming the boot of choice for grand prix riders as it promotes superior hind end movement over jumps. These boots offer replaceable T-Foam liners.

One of the newest and most thrilling products is the T-Sport Wrap™. These foam-lined wraps provide maximum compression and support and are superior to synthetic polo wraps that are on the market today. Through EquiFit, Inc., equestrians now have access to the same cutting edge technology used by athletic trainers, physical therapists, and sports physicians for many years.
