Global Champions Tour of Brazil has a New Venue - the Athina Onassis International Horse Show

Rio de Janiero (29/07/09) - There is a new and exciting venue for the 2009 GCT of Brazil. It is to be hosted by the Athina Onassis International Horse Show. Rio de Janiero, candidate city for the 2016 Olympic Games is host to the GCT of Brazil 2009. The venue is breathtaking with top facilities for the horses, good organisation and the entire venue is set against the dramatic backdrop of Corcovado.

Olympic gold medallist Eric Lamaze has confirmed for the show. He will compete in the GCT for the first time this year, in front of a sold out crowd. There is total prizemoney of Euro 787,500 for the event with a special Euro 50,000 bonus for the best rider of the show and Euro 5,000 awarded to the groom of the best rider of the show.

Watch the first round of the GCT of Brazil Grand Prix live at www.globalchampionstour.com starting from 14:00 local time (19:00 CET) and the second round will be broadcast on Eurosport LIVE from 16:30 local time (21:30 CET). The event is also broadcast on Universal Sport (USA), Al Jazeera Sport (Middle East), Equidia (France) and Super Sports (South Africa).
