Andrew Hoy rode another world class Show Jumping round on Moonfleet within the time to finish on his dressage score of 36.5, and win the 2006 Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials.
For the first time – 27 years after first attempting it, Hoy has mastered this difficult British Course. Hoy finished on his runaway dressage score of 36.5 to win eventing’s most prestigious crown ahead of Germany’s Ingrid Klimke. Britain’s Oliver Townend, 23, finished in third position with Flint Curtis.
Hoy can now head to Burghley with the aim of collecting a Rolex timepiece and a nice bonus for completing the Grand Slam. Britain’s Pippa Funnell was the last to take the Grand Slam.
