APRIL 7, 2025—Sergio Campos of Florida’s Longwood Equestrian Center had a very successful week at the Ocala Jumping Classic, organized by the Hayes Family and held at the beautiful Florida Horse Park In Ocala.
Campos and the Rae Marie Kennedy-owned Zizou fronted the victory gallop for the meet’s opening mini prix. He was also 3rd in the class aboard Lucie McKinney’s Lucky Lou.
Earlier in the week Campos and Lucky Lou collected blue ribbons in both the 1.20m and 1.30m classes.
The Brazilian-born rider capped off the week with a 3rd place finish in the $50,000 Grand Prix with the Atlanta Equestrian Center-owned Golas.
Longwood client Diana Rodolpho was also in the ribbons, earning 7th place in the mini prix coming with her French-bred gelding Monkey du Parc.
“It’s a really nice facility with great footing and great competition,” Campos noted of the show. “We had a great time here.”
At the Georgia International Horse Park in Conyers, at the Classic Company’s Spring Classic, Michael Tokaruk, of the Aiken, S.C.-based Tokaruk Show Stables, came very close to a second consecutive grand prix victory with his Holsteiner gelding Lord Byron. After capturing last week’s GP, Tokaruk turned in a smoking jump-off round in Sunday’s $25,000 Spring Atlanta Grand Prix, but ended with an unfortunate rail that landed him in 5th place.
The winner, as reported earlier by Flashpoint, was fellow Aiken resident and fellow Flashpoint Media client Daniel Geitner, who swept the Prix’s three top spots with Trading Places (owned by Kyle Register), Miraj (Sherry Cooke), and Sympa (Mrs. Charles Bostwick), respectively.
Earlier in the week Geitner took home 2nd place in the in the Welcome Stake with Gladiator, owned by Kathleen Feeley.
Tokaruk and Lordy, meanwhile, were also 3rd in the Open Jumper Level 6 class, bested by brother Luke Tokaruk aboard his dazzling new horse Lucius 35, who took 2nd.
Sophia Gali, of the Potomac, MD-based GaliCo Equine, took her pony Legally Blonde to the Maryland Nationals in Upper Marlboro this week. In the Small Pony Hunters Gali and her partner were 2nd in the conformation class and earned a 2nd and a 4th over fences and a 4th under saddle. The team was also a well-placed 5th in the MHSA Pony Equitation class.
Also riding for GaliCo Equine was Virginia Clemens, who piloted the GaliCo-owned Koen to 3rd place in the WIHS Children’s Jumper Classic and 3rd place in the NAL Children’s Jumper Classic.
Congratulation to all!
