The FEI announces today the departure of Muriel Faienza, FEI Communications Manager. After 11 years as the head of the FEI Communications Department, Muriel has decided to give her professional career a new scope. She will be leaving the FEI following the 2006 General Assembly to join a Swiss jewel-manufacturing company.
Muriel Faienza’s contribution to the FEI has been outstanding. She participated actively in the launch of a new FEI Communications approach which became a reality in 1995. The development of a communications policy, regular information to the media, the creation of an FEI website and the establishment of professional service to the FEI competition series were among the many public relations projects Muriel has successfully managed. Under her guidance, the FEI General Assembly has become a great event for the FEI Member Federations held at the highest organisational standard.
Muriel has also been involved with many other projects, primarily in the field of information systems. She has greatly contributed to the creation of a results database, the establishment of World Riders’ Ranking Lists in various disciplines, the registration of riders and horses and the new FEI passports system to mention but a few.
Activities have grown to such an impressive scale over the years that a dedicated Information Systems Department will be created shortly while the FEI Communications Department will fully focus on public relations. No staff changes are foreseen in the short term. Sophie Ruiz will concentrate on promotion activities in connection with FEI championships and series while Malina Gueorguiev will handle corporate communications.
