Fifteen-year-old Franchesca Liauw and the Landadel mare, La Bonita proved unbeatable again in the 1.15m World of Feng Shui Young Riders Classic on Friday. The US national, living in Singapore, again out paced the opposition in the four-way jump off against the clock, winning with a clear round in 31.15 seconds. The other three to join Franchesca in the barrage were Severine Miaja riding the six-year-old Bonhomme mare, Nacre de la Roche, which also jumped clear in 33.51 seconds for second place. Malaysia’s Eda Wong rode Michelle Barrera’s Australian Thoroughbred, DB Senorita to finish with four penalties in 35.36 seconds for third place. Eda, a successful eventing rider, moved up one place from fourth yesterday. Eighteen-year-old Catherine Chew from Singapore was another to hold her form riding Dr Melanie Chew’s AH Pikadeur, to claim fourth place with eight penalties in 31.37 seconds.
