On May 28, horsewoman and former Marylander Trina Bellak lost her long battle with breast cancer. An outspoken and passionate advocate for horses, Trina launched her lobbying career first as attorney and legislative liaison with the Humane Society of the United States and later with the American Horse Defense Fund, an organization she founded in 2000.
But even before she began her horse protection crusade on Capital Hill, many Marylanders knew Trina as the passionate owner of the Belgian Warmblood stallion Eros, and was a key advocate in the establishment and expansion of the North American District of the Belgian Warmblood Association.
A memorial service will be held at Beth Sholom Synagogue in Potomac, Sunday, July 16 from 12:00-1:30.
