Great Britain looking for a showjumping manager.

January 16, 2026

An advertisement by the British Equestrian Federation and British Show Jumping Association for a showjumping manager indicates that Derek Ricketts has paid the price for last year’s poor performances by Great Britain’s showjumping team.

The closing date for applications is Jan 20. While it is believed that Ricketts can reapply for the role, it is certainly a slap-in-the-face to him.

In 2009 Britain finished eighth overall in the Nations Cup and were sixth at the European Championships in Windsor.

The BEF have appealed against the International Equestrian Federation decision to relegate Britain to the second-tier promotional league for 2010, with a decision expected soon.

Ricketts, a former international showjumper, has been team manager since 2002.

Tim Stockdale will perform the role of chef d’equipe when a four-strong British team contests a Nations Cup event in Abu Dhabi early next month, which carries a Euros 100,000 prize fund.
