Aachen, Germany—Europeans know how to do dressage. Each country brought their best to the table today, including their fans. The crowd was filled with foam fingers, waving flags, funny hats and colorful scarves. It looked more like an American football game and sounded like it when certain competitors finished their test and left the stadium. The rain held off, the sun tried unsuccessfully to break through, the wind remained somewhat calm, just enough to keep a cool fall-like chill in the air. (More…)
After the first half of the Grand Prix, the German dressage team is holding a comfortable lead of almost five percent. Heike Kemmer achieved the best result of the day (75.792 percent) with her 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding, Bonaparte, in the Nation’s Cup, the team classification. Hubertus Schmidt had already “contributed” to the result in the morning with a score of 69.208 percent. (More…)

Aachen, DE – August 22, 2025 – Ashley Holzer with the darkly handsome stallion, Gambol, co-owned with Dr. Diane Fellows, and Evi Strasser with striking chestnut gelding, Quantum Tyme, owned by her own Good Tyme Stables, are more than ready to carry the Canadian colours in the Dressage Competition at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany. Long before the sun rose over the first day of competition at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Aachen, a flurry of activity was going on as the stage was set for the first medal decisions made in the equestrian discipline of endurance. The consensus is that today’s championship served as the biggest in the sport’s interesting development and history, and the fact that temperatures didn’t make it much past the mid-60 degree range were a blessing to those who had feared that the heat that Germany saw weeks ago might wreak havoc in a sport where weather conditions can send the placings into a scramble.
