WVVH-TV - HAMPTONS TELEVISION COVERAGE OF THE 31st ANNUAL HAMPTON CLASSIC HORSE SHOW

Vet check show-jumping horses - 134 show-jumping horses were presented at the vet check.

Three horses were sent to the holding box. Isaac (Rider: Royne Zettermann/SWE) passed the subsequent check, Paradigm (Rider: Mario Deslauries/CAN) and Cartouche (Rider: Ales Opatrny/CZE) will have to be presented at the re-inspection on Tuesday morning. (More…)

Megan Benjamin Takes Women’s Gold in Vaulting; Amy Tryon Wins Eventing’s Individual Bronze Medal

(Aachen, Germany) – It all came down to one minute. It was years in the making, but it came down to one minute in Aachen, Germany, and when that one minute was over, 18-year-old Megan Benjamin of Saratoga, CA, was the first female American vaulter ever to take a world championship. For the past 20 years, a German woman has always held the title of World Champion, and Germany has also won 23 of the last 30 world championships. In Eventing, Hoy and co. claim the team gold medal while the English Queen’s granddaughter wins individual gold

“Unbelievable.” Bettina Hoy could get another word out. Together with the German eventing team she had just claimed the gold medal at the World Championships - so they finally managed to deliver the sporting response to Athens. Zara Phillips, the granddaughter of the British Queen, secured the individual title on Sunday afternoon.

Dancing Queen - Anky van Gunsven (NED) and Keltec Salinero

Anky van Grunsven (NED) and Keltec Salinero are the new World Dressage Freestyle Champions with a breathtaking result of 86.5%. A much deserved and applauded silver medal goes to Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand and his grey nine-year old mare Blue Hors Matine (81,5%). Eventing: Zara Phillips takes the lead ahead of Bettina Hoy

It was Rüdiger Schwarz’s day. The Warendorf-based German course builder, who designed the WEG course celebrated the biggest success of his career as a course designer. His first World Championships course was not only highly praised by the competitors, but also by the ecstatic crowd of around 44,000 people, who lined the track at the Soers. (More…)
